Target role fit
One profile, two credible lanes
Hire me for either side — I'll bring the other with me. On the delivery side I run sprints, coordinate teams, and ship on the dates I commit to. On the engineering side I build the systems, write the code, and make the technical calls.
Experience
Delivery leadership backed by hands-on engineering
Team coordination, project management, software engineering, quality assurance, research, and live product operations.
Selected proof of work
Four projects where I owned the outcome — across product, delivery, AI quality, and engineering.
Role: Author · Designer · Engineer · solo build (RWTH Aachen M.Sc. thesis → open-source tool)
Open-source, GitHub-native workflow for evidence-backed documentation of evolving ML systems. Cards live next to the code, are maintained through pull requests, and link every claim back to file-and-line repository evidence. A multi-pass LLM pipeline proposes structured updates as diffs with confidence signals; reviewers stay in control. Designed, built, and shipped end-to-end as a deployed web app.
Role: IT Lead · Technical Project Manager · Product Owner — 5-person team
Ran technical delivery across the Plooshies browser-game ecosystem. Plooshy PileUp is the flagship match-3 launch and reached 30K+ unique players and ~1.5K DAU in six weeks. Plooshy Island is the persistent WebGL social hub. The catalog also includes 7 supporting mini-games. Owned roadmap, backlog, releases, QA / security validation, and live ops end-to-end.
AI Studio: Generative Media Operations Platform
Role: Full-stack AI Product Engineer · solo build · internal tool
Internal AI studio for image and video generation, output review, reusable asset management, QA analytics, and native publishing. Designed, built, and shipped end-to-end as the team's daily driver for production AI media work. The architecture ties a responsive Next.js interface to Prisma/MySQL persistence, Redis/BullMQ workers, provider integrations, approval gates, and queue tooling — UX, operations, and reliability all owned by me.
Quantitative Signal Engine: Adaptive Market Analysis
Role: Quantitative Systems Engineer · solo build · internal trading desk
Proprietary decision-support system used live across $100M+ in perpetual-futures trading volume at an internal trading desk. Turns noisy market data into a clean operating view for research, execution review, and risk-aware calls — with a UI that actually makes complex market context readable. Designed, modeled, and implemented from scratch by me. Methodology intentionally private.

What collaborators say
“I had the pleasure of working with Baran while he was a student at RWTH Aachen University. As a student assistant, he helped with lectures and supported the organization of the computer science bridge course. I supervised him while he wrote his seminar paper and master's thesis. In all of these activities, he consistently exceeded expectations. Throughout that time, he demonstrated an analytical mindset, high technical proficiency, strong teamwork skills, and dedication. I am convinced that he will be a great asset to any team.”
“Baran was part of our team for four years as a software engineer, growing from Android (Java) into full-stack web with C# and React, and ultimately owning our user analytics — ELK-Stack integration, dashboards, and behavioral evaluation. He combined a broad, very strong technical foundation with outstanding organizational skill, working efficiently and calmly even under high workload and shifting requirements. His results were consistently of very high quality, and his initiative and self-driven learning stood out. He handled every task to our fullest satisfaction.”

What I do when I'm not shipping
Two things I make time for outside work. Both shape how I show up on delivery.
Chess
Played competitively in my youth and still play regularly today. Chess trains three habits I rely on at work every week: looking for a solution under any condition (even a losing one), playing under the clock so stress becomes a tool instead of a brake, and always planning a few moves ahead before committing.
Surfing
I surf when I get to the coast. Reading conditions, accepting that you don't control the ocean, and committing to the wave once you've chosen it — those translate to delivery work more than I expected.
